Wanna Taste Heaven?

K, so I'm still new at this loading video thing. It took me a while, close to two hours,
yesterday to figure out how to load them onto youtube. So I didn't get
yesterday's video posted with Mister's description of the pizza till way after
I posted it. Just in case you care.

Probably my favorite food in New York, gave me a food orgasm: Cannolis.
I've never had a cannoli {AMAZING!!}
(not something you regularly find in the wilds of Idaho's desert)
and will probably never be the same until I
make them myself. I've found several recipes: here, here, and here.
If you have no idea what I am talking about and you have mad cooking
skills you should try them out too.
I have a feeling they won't be so good for my no-existing-but-always-attempting
diet. Here is a little of Little Italy for ya:

I asked Mister if it was romantic. He said of course, as romantic as
you can get with sore feet, loads of people, and sweating to death from
the humidity. Then would you believe that he proceeded to tell me that
he thought I was awesome? He did. At least that is how I remember it
in my cannoli-induced mind. They do happy things to you.
Especially when you are listening to a man sing Italian music in the background
as you are indulging.
Then...
the next day all you can think about is all that food-- all that fatty food--
going straight to making fatty cells to fill my fatty thighs and butt.
Cannoli hangovers are bad. Proceed with caution.
Really try and avoid those last four extra servings, okay?

Green/Red Smoothies

I've heard a lot about green smoothies lately and after joining
the health kick with overnight oatmeal, I thought I'd give it a whirl.
My smoothie didn't turn out so green--I like berries.
But it was yummy. And really great for me.
Spinach and berries, surprising.

It looked so pretty in my blender. And although it took awhile
for my little guy to blend it all up-- it was worth it.
I added a bit more berries because I wanted to mask the taste
of spinach, but I don't think you need it.

2 cups of Spinach
1 cup of mixed berries
frozen banana
a little water or juice

Here is a few other recipes that I'll be trying.

Enjoy!

Tim Tam Slam

Ever heard of a Tim Tam?
I hadn't, but Mister (formally Mr. Friend) insisted that they
have them around here in good ol' America.
If you see them please inform me where you got them,
okay?

I present you the glories of a Tim Tam Slam.
Which is just fun to say.
(Imagine Rocky music playing right here.)

The Players:

Gently nibble of an opposite corner of each side.

(Sorry for the creepy eye photo.)
Use it like a straw and suck up until you can taste milk.

Then with quick fingers pop it into your mouth.
Sing and rejoice for goodness.
Happy Day.

Simple, right?

You can do this a few times if you desire.
I think there are twelve cookies in a package.
(I didn't count.)

Toodles!

Copycate Recipe- Italian Nachos

I had the best leftovers today for lunch:
Johnny Carino's.
Lovely, lovely Italian food. Seriously better than
Olive Garden. If you haven't gone there you simple must.Anyho, I love Johnny Carino's appetizer Italian Nachos.
They are creamy, crunchy, pretty, and divine!
I've been making my own version lately and they ain't
too bad. So, here is a fun little recipe to mix some up with.

What you need:
1 package of wanton wrappers, cut into triangles
a handful or two of grilled chicken breast
(or you can use Italian sausage)
a can of chopped olives
a can of pepperochini peppers
two Roma tomatoes cut into cubes
mozzarella cheese, shredded
Ragu Alfredo Sauce (or some other white sauce,
if you make it from scratch you are a better person than me)
garlic powder
Italian seasoning

In the oven or in a fryer, cook your wanton wrappers.
(If you cook them in the oven, toss them in olive oil and
bake at 400 for about 5-6 minutes.)
This only takes a few minutes until they are golden brown.

Meanwhile heat the sauce and grill the chicken.

Once wantons (wanton is a fun word to say!) are finished lay them
on a platter, put some chicken, tomatoes, pepperochini peppers,
olives onto and drizzle the Ragu over it. Put the shredded cheese
on top, place in the oven or microwave to warm up. Say a little prayer
and hold on to your taste buds because they are going to love you!
